Nioshii Art in Visual Art & Designs Directory

Nioshii is a lifelong artist who is the daughter, granddaughter, and great granddaughter of artists. Her early training included studying and working with her father in his New York City studio as he painted extensive canvases for ecclesiastical murals. The influence of his traditional approach to art the result of his studies with the masters in Italy was augmented by participation in her mothers art classes in their home, extensive time spent in the museums of New York City, and immersion in the multiplicity of cultures there. Nioshii has pursued a broad range of artistic disciplines focusing on murals, oil paintings, silk paintings, mosaics, fabric collage, architectural woodworking, and art photography. Her representational abstract style reflects her thoughtful, deeply emotional, avant garde outlook combined with her respect for long standing principles and techniques of art. The vast majority of her work has centered on unique, challenging commissions for individuals and municipalities, and on arts education programs.
