Donna Lichty Baker began painting in 1984 while working full time as a supervisor of training for a Fortune 500 corporation. Prior to her 25year career in Human Resources, she was a flight attendant and a high school English teacher. A native of Kerrville, Texas, Donna earned her B.A. degree from Texas Christian University and her M.A. degree from Georgia State University. She holds numerous certifications for advanced studies in human resources and art. Currently, Donna has an art studio in Fayetteville, Georgia, where she teaches adults decorative painting and manages her own decorative and fine art business, Just A Touch. Donna is an active member of several fine art associations in the Atlanta area. Additionally, she is a business member of the national Society of Decorative Painters and the local Dogwood chapter. Donna was selected as a resident demonstrating artist at the 1999 Georgia National Fair. Her artwork has won numerous awards in fine art and decorative art competitions. Painting her own designs on old sheet music, Donna has created her artistic niche by combining her interest in antiques with her love of music. She does some oil painting, but prefers acrylics or watercolor. Her favorite subjects are flowers, cats, angels, fairies, wizards, Santas, and peaceful scenery. She also enjoys painting cute characters that smile back at her as she works. She especially likes creating new paintings for others. Whimsical or realistic, each handpainted piece shows the unique attention to detail which Donna typically puts into ther work before she signs it. Donna enjoys traveling and often schedules sightseeing trips to coincide with her marketing efforts and art shows. Donna is continually taking classes herself to improve her artistic skills and to keep up with new techniques which she can pass along to her own students.
