“Painting for me, is about having the freedom to express my wildest imagination without compromise. It is also about exploring the possibility of what could be without any preconceived notion of the outcome. I love creating an image and exploring what that image could appear like in its own “dream time” or dimension.” Loulou Borys was born in Quebec, Canada and is of both Iroquois and French descent. A world traveler, she has resided on both east and west coasts of the United States as well as South Australia and Monsterrat, British West Indies.Loulou now lives on beautiful picturesque Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada with her husband. She has 2 daughters and two granddaughters. Loulou’s unique approach draws from both her Iroquois native roots and a deep appreciation of west coast native art. Years of experimentation in combining these two traditional native styles and fusing them together with elements of pop culture such as bold color and surreal imagery has resulted in this striking new vision. Her primary medium is hand painted acrylics on watercolor paper and the occasional canvas. Some older works combine airbrushing with hand painted acrylics.
