My name is Alice ScottMorris. For twenty years, Ive enjoyed creating whimsical imaginary worlds in fine detail in my etchings, with images of castles and cottages, wizards and jugglers, moons and suns, fairies and dragons, cats and carousels. Ive also created etchings of an hourglass, a map of Atlantis, teacups, angels and hearts, antique dolls and Victorian shops. As an art student at UCLA I discovered etching, and since I was drawn to meticulous detail in my artwork, this medium was perfect for me. Im often asked where I get my ideas. I was originally influenced by old childrens book illustrations, dream imagery and tales of fantasy. My original etchings are often described as having an antique, Old World look. Theyre widely distributed throughout the United States, and thanks to the internet theyre finding homes in more distant and wonderful places as well
