Ive been driven by the desire to paint from early childhood. My first painting was a landscape I did at age 11. I was shown the basics of painting and color unity by my brother. He taught me how to keep the brush strokes loose. We both have our dad to thank for our painting genes. He was a gifted impressionist painter. Im inspired by natures endless bounty for subject matter, a wild horse, a shelter dog or a desert. Animals, landscapes and people all find their way into my paintings. My mission is to capture the energy of the moment on canvas, using bold spontaneous brush strokes and vibrant color. I am primarily a self taught painter. I have studied with the late Charles Sovek a truly gifted painter who taught me so much. My inspirations are diverse and wide, all melding into a style that is uniquely mine.
