Julie Prince has been creating sculpture professionally since the early 80s, first showing at the Maison des Artistes in SoHo NYC, 1981. Since then she has exhibited at galleries nationwide including Del Mano Gallery Brentwood, Pacific Design Center Los Angeles, International Art Exposition NYC, and since 1996 to the present, CFM Gallery NYC. Her work can be found in corporate and private collections throughout the world. Currently, she is dedicating all her creative energies to commissioned portrait sculptures via The Portraicast. Reinventing this important art form in contemporary ways See Sculpture Gallery, including the use of cast glass See Available Sculptures; and passionately believing in its value to future generations. Bicoastal, she resides in Manhattan and recently designed and built a unique new studio in the canyons above Los Angeles to meet with her diverse clients, as well as traveling to them in Paris, Hong Kong, Australia and elsewhere. Her sculpture has been commissioned by Evyan Perfume for Fifth Avenue windows, McCannErickson for Coca Cola billboards, BauchetWolf & Vine L.A. and e.t. Cranston NY & Milan for the creation of lines of realistic manikins featured in Smithsonian Magazine. She created fantasy masks for Lincoln Centers Venetian Ball Benefit for the Philharmonic Orchestra shown in The New York Times and her work has been used in commercials, videos and corporate recognition programs. Celebrity sitters include Tony Randall and Mickey Rourke. Julie Prince is a native of Los Angeles with Hungarian origins. She received her baccalaureate in Fine ArtsTheatre from Cal Arts as well as scholarships to Art Center and Otis Art Institute. Upon graduation, she moved to NYC then the artistic Mecca for serious gallery work. Further studies ensued at School for Visual Arts, NYU, NY Academy of Art human anatomyecorche, and most recently Brooklyns Urban Arts Glass Foundry.
