Dan Bridge was born in 1951 in Westlock, Alberta. In 1963, Dan moved to Fort St. John, British Columbia and has been residing there since with wife Ellen. Dan and Ellen were married in 1971 and had two children, Wyatt who was born in 1975, and Jeremy who was born in 1977. Wyatt has been living in Calgary, Alberta since 1997 and Jeremy works and lives in St. John. The outdoors is a huge part of the Bridges lives. Ever since Wyatt and Jeremy were born, they have been enjoying hunting and fishing trips with their parents and also their grandparents, Vi and Conrad Merwin. Unfortunately, Conrad Nipper Merwin passed away in the spring of 1998 and is truly missed by the Bridge, Bergh and Merwin families. Every fall the Bridge family gets together to bugle Elk, grunt for Moose, or to sit in the snow and rattle for deer. No matter what, they will always have fun, but it is always a question of who will get the bragging rights until the following season. The Bridges have been very fortunate to have taken some great trophies over the years and also the great meat that fills the deep freeze along with that. Dans passion for hunting and fishing led him to carving and the start of A Piece of the Outdoors antler carvings in 1979. Inspired by Dans work, Wyatt learned the trade from his father and has been carving since 1996. All of the carvings Dan and Wyatt do are originals and are not duplicated in any way. All of the moose antler carvings are done on shed antlers and all of the sheep horns have been inspected and tagged by fish and wildlife services.
