I was born in Dublin and my artistic talent was apparent at an early age. Luckily my Dad, Tom was himself, a gifted artist and was keen to nurture my talent and brought me painting with him and his artist friends which included the great watercolourist Tom Nesbitt of the Royal Hibernian Academy of Ireland when I learned a lot about the craft of handling watercolour painting. I later attended The National College of Art & Design, Dublin Ireland and learned a lot about the craft of creative painting. Some of the people I studied under where Sean Keating, Maurice McGonigal, and Fergus O Ryan. I also studied graphic design under Professor Roman. I was elected a member of The Watercolour Society of Ireland in 1960. During this time I also exhibited in The Royal Hibernian Academy of Ireland and other galleries.
